On the morning of May 16, 2025, the GEVA Project – “Green Export Incubation and Acceleration through Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS)” – was officially launched, with the participation of nearly 40 agricultural enterprises from various provinces and cities across Vietnam. The launch event marked the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at supporting Vietnamese businesses in accessing international markets through green exports and sustainable development.
GEVA – A Pioneering Project Supporting Green Exports for Agricultural businesses through Compliance with Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) in Vietnam
GEVA is a project under the SwissTrade program, funded by the Government of Switzerland through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), managed by the International Trade Centre (ITC), and operated by KisStartup from April 2025 to April 2026.
The project aims to:
-
Strengthen the green export capacity of agricultural enterprises
-
Effectively implement Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) to meet increasingly stringent requirements from developed markets such as the EU, the U.S., and Japan
-
Connect Vietnamese businesses with international markets, expanding opportunities for green exports
Highlights of the Launch Event
At the launch ceremony, the organizing committee presented an overview of the project's key activities, including:
-
Development and implementation of an online toolkit to help businesses assess their export readiness and compliance with Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS).
-
In-person training programs in three major cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang/Central Highlands) focusing on green exports, VSS, and sustainable business models.
-
A 6-month incubation and acceleration program, with 23 selected enterprises receiving tailored 1-on-1 coaching based on their specific needs.
-
Six market-connection conferences targeting key regions: the EU, the U.S., Canada, ASEAN, Australia, and the Middle East.
Export Collaboration Opportunities from International Partners
The launch event also served as an opportunity to introduce GEVA’s strategic partners:
-
k-tra.de (Germany) – a product platform that helps Vietnamese businesses bring their products directly to European consumers.
-
AseanHub and Join&Coin (Thailand) – a distribution network with over 5 million members, offering opportunities to bring Vietnamese products into Thai supermarket chains and domestic retail channels.
These partnerships demonstrate GEVA’s commitment not only to training and capacity building, but also to creating practical and sustainable market connections for Vietnamese businesses.
